the Fbi, your neighbor, or your It guy told you that you need to reset your router
Late in the may of 2018 the FBI posted an advisory to all of us U.S. residents to reboot our routers due to a piece of malware. IT professionals actually advised that resetting your routers was ideal to eliminate as much of the malware as possible. Rebooting the router is not as effective as resetting the router at eliminating the problem. I, along with the other IT professionals, recommend that in all cases where it is possible to reset the router. In this blog post I outline how you can reset your CenturyLink Modem/Router combo unit and your Netgear router to it's factory default settings. This is effectively going to erase the problem if it is even there.
